The Immoralist -- The End
Well this is the last of my musings on The Immoralist . I know it’s upsetting but don’t worry, I’ll be back next week with a new theme, tentatively titled Head . (Ya been warned, so start lodging yer complaints now.)

Since I made everybody suffer through bad shirts, bad haircuts and bad tape recordings, I am going to close with two rare live tracks of The Immoralist from practice tapes.

Both tracks are named after the labels on the practice tapes, The Sun Sessions and Sessions Try I . The Immoralist (Sun Sessions) is actually a decent recording and shows why I remember enjoying this song, because it was quick and we could rock it out. The Immoralist (Try I Sessions) is more of how I remember this song, sloppy (and I mean that in the good sense of sloppy.)

So until Head , enjoy.

This Week in Justice
Thought I'd break up the Immoralist postings this week with a little Justice. And, to mix things up, it's completely devoid of the boys in the band. Instead, here's a brief look into my psyche and perhaps a glimpse at the pulse of the world this week.

What Makes Me Happy:
Titty Full of Beer

What Makes Me Sad:

What Scares Me:
2 Girls 1 Cup
Out of respect for our legions of fans, I won't link to this. But it's bad. Really, really bad. In comparison, a Chuck Berry Sandwich is an afternoon snack.

The Immoralist -- Part III
Here's a photo of me pretending to read the copy of The Immoralist that inspired the song The Immoralist . After seeing the comment Justice posted yesterday I now realize I should’ve actually read the book instead of pretending to read the book. If all else, I may have gotten better grades that semester.

I'm not sure why I posed for this pic like I was going to be on the cover of Taint Monthly, but then I'm sure Justice will come up with a witty explanation for that as well.

Speaking of, here's a photo of an amazingly mulleted Justice from the same roll of film. What's that he's holding in his hand? A stylized photocopy of the Does Cows (BS) that was supposed to be used for a tee. (See my previous postings for more information on Bone Sauce and D.I.Y tees.)

The Immoralist -- Part II
In continuing with my series on The Immoralist I present the song's original hand written lyrics from 1990. It's surprising this still exists, as most of the early written stuff is long gone.

The sheet is kinda worn. If you look there's a little section torn out at the top of the paper. That's because I have a bad habit of not remembering my lyrics. I'd often fix this problem by stuffing the edge of the sheet between the mic clip and mic and then glancing down at the sheet when I needed help.

I credited the song to all of the band members at the time: Bram, Justice, Mike Baker and myself. I think I did that because the song started as a Justice bass riff and grew from there, with all of us adding components.

The lyrics are kinda dumb, but I'll use the fact that I was 19 as my excuse. The premise was that I had just read Gide's The Immoralist for homework and then had discussed the sexual undertones during class. I guess I thought for some reason that'd make for good listening

As the lyric sheet shows the "eff Gide" line was planned and not adlibbed. This will be the first of many angst ridden fbombs dropped in a BS song.

Anyway, I think the lyrics are clear enough from the image. But if someone really wants me to transcribe what's there, I will.

The Immoralist -- Part I
I'm going to try something different this week with my postings. Instead of uploading random artifacts, I'm going to post music and images all dealing with a single theme. This week's theme is The Immoralist.

The Immoralist is a song we recorded around 1990. Back when Bone Sauce was probably still known as The Haus Flies. In fact, this could be the fourth or fifth song Bram, Justice and I worked on together. Anyway, I'll make the bold claim that The Immoralist was always popular with us because it was rough, ugly and we could rock the crap out of it.

Since I'll be writing more about this tune I won't say anything else for now, except that the copy linked below is the four-track version. Sadly, the only copy I own is not in the best of shape (even with my attempt to enhance it digitally.) But then this song was always meant to be raw, so maybe it's appropriate.
